PAUL ATWATER has a passion for helping spiritually confused people experience the joy of discovering God’s purpose for their lives. Toward this end, Paul launched North River Community Church (Pembroke) in 1989. Paul’s gifts focus on leadership, teaching and evangelism. Paul was a co-captain of the Wheaton College (IL) football team and received his M.Div. from Denver Seminary. He has contributed articles for Leadership Journal and Rick Warren’s Ministry Toolbox. Under Paul’s leadership, North River Church was profiled by WCVB Channel 5’s “Chronicle” and Paul received the 2004 Purpose Driven Church Health Award on North River’s behalf. He also teaches Old Testament at South Shore Christian Academy in Weymouth. Paul and his wife, Sue, have two daughters and live in Hanover.

NATHAN BARCZI is an associate pastor at Christ the King Church in Newton, Mass., and is the Senior Theologian & Associate Director of The Octet Collaborative, a Christian Study center to serve MIT. He Holds a PhD in Economics from MIT, as well as an MA and a PhD in Theology from the University of Nottingham. His pastoral ministry has focused on the integration of faith with work, bioethics, and the practical applications of Christian teachings on what it means to be a flourishing human being. He and his wife Leann, both natives of Silicon Valley, live in Somerville, Mass. with their three children.

REV. MARK BOOKER is the Senior Pastor of Park Street Church, Boston. Originally from Colorado, Mark used to work professionally in the great outdoors. After completing theological study at the University of Oxford, he ministered in congregations in Jackson, MS, and Washington, DC, prior to moving to Boston in 2009. Mark and his wife, Mandy, have four children.

DR. J. DAVID FRANKS desires to serve the revelation of the glory of Jesus, the Word of God, in all things. He is Director of the Trinity Institute for Leadership and Social Justice—and a member of the faculty—at Boston Trinity Academy, a diverse Christian prep school in Hyde Park. He is also senior research fellow at the Abigail Adams Institute in Cambridge, convening its flagship program, The Great Conversation, which draws on the great books in discussing, “How should we live?” He received his Ph.D. in systematic theology from Boston College, and was professor of sacred theology for almost a decade at St. John’s Seminary. An activist as well as an intellectual, David serves as Chairman of the Board for Massachusetts Citizens for Life.

FR. JÜRGEN LIIAS has a razor sharp wit that is matched only by his genuine warmth and contagious love of people. Known for his earnest desire to see hearts mended and lives transformed, he has been especially involved in movements of spiritual renewal within the church. Jürgen has been a frequent retreat and mission leader. On April 20, 2013, Jürgen was ordained a Catholic Priest, and now serves on the staff at St. Patrick’s Parish in Stoneham. Born in Germany in 1948, he came to the United States as a refugee in 1951, settling and growing up in the Boston area. He graduated from Amherst College and the Episcopal Theological School and was ordained in 1972. He has previously served parishes in Danvers, Hamilton, Malden, and downtown Boston. Jurgen and his wife Gloria have two grown children and three grandchildren.

Canon Tim Clayton is Rector of Trinity North Shore, South Hamilton, MA. He grew up in North Carolina, went to UNC Chapel Hill, taught English in Budapest, and then graduated with high honors from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He worked at the Falls Church in northern Virginia, working with young adults and international mission partners. He and his wife, Cheryl, have founded two projects: one an ecumenical community in Maine focused on the intersection of Christian faith with care for the creation and for the poor, and the other a new Anglican church in North Carolina.
He has led mission or spiritual pilgrimage trips in more than a dozen countries on five continents. His hobbies include kayaking and cross-country skiing. He and his wife, Cheryl live in Beverly Farms and have three children.

Dr. Jeffrey Arthurs was raised in western PA in a nominally Christian home and came to saving faith in Christ when he was fourteen years old. His life was turned upside down as he soon became deeply involved in the life of the church, receiving a call to preach at age sixteen. To this day his passion is preaching, and he uses his wide-ranging communication experience as a teacher, pastor, missionary, director, announcer, and consultant to equip others to more effectively proclaim the Word. He is a professor of preaching and communication at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, South Hamilton, MA. His books reflect his love of preaching and communication: Preaching with Variety, Devote Yourself to Public Reading of Scripture, and Preaching As Reminding. Jeff is interim pastor at Cross Bridge in Lexington, MA. Dr. Arthurs has been married for thirty-eight years and enjoys playing tennis and disc golf with his wife. They are the parents of one son, Daniel.
