Psalms of Ascent - Psalm 133
Speaker Notes Unity
Psalm 133
A song of ascents. Of David.
1 How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!
2 It is like precious oil poured on the head,
running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron’s beard,
down on the collar of his robe.
3 It is as if the dew of Hermon
were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows his blessing,
even life forevermore.
Three False Forms of Unity:
1 - Democratic Unity
2 - the unity of Assimilation (Imperial Unity)
3 - Purity tests (“Religious Unity”)
Three Reasons for Unity:
1 - We are all made in the Image of God
2 - We have all sinned
3 - God, in The Cross, has reconciled Himself to us
